Eyelash Extensions (Classic & Volume Lashes)

Updated: Dec 3, 2021

Classic eyelash extensions is the process of applying an individual eyelash extension to an isolated natural lash. Classic lash extensions give the client the appearance of wearing mascara without the difficulty of applying mascara and or curling the lashes daily. During the lash extension process, the client is expected to arrive on time with clean lashes (meaning no make up or glue residue from lash strips.)

Before your appointment:

Please remove makeup from eye area, and come with fresh, clean lashes before your appointment!

Removing said glue will take valuable time from your appointment, resulting in less time for the actual lash application procedure.

Typical appointment time varies as a 15 minute consultation and lash prep is included. Expect the appointment to last 90 minutes to 2 hours (depending on the amount of natural lashes for a full voluminous look!)

Volume lashing is the technique in which anywhere from 2-6 synthetic extensions are applied to each individual lash. They are not as heavy as cluster lashes (there’s a difference) and are customized for the client’s desired look and natural lashes.

Volume lashes range in diameter from 0.03 mm, 0.05 mm, 0.07 mm, and 0.10 mm. 0.10 mm is similar in the volume world as 0.12 mm is in the classic world.

With volume lashes, an artist is able to apply MULTIPLE extensions, that are created into a fan, to ONE natural lash, WITHOUT damaging the natural lashes.

WHICH TECHNIQUE IS BEST FOR YOU?

Classic lashes:

If you want a natural look.

If you want to look like you are wearing mascara.

If you have naturally thick lashes.

If you have a lot of natural lashes.

If you have thick and long lashes.

If you want a voluminous look, but you have thick, dense, long natural lashes.

Volume lashes:

If you have very sparse natural lashes.

If you have very fine or weak natural lashes.

If you want more volume to your lash look.

If you used to wear strip lashes and enjoy the look of them.

If you want more volume, even though your natural lashes are thick, dense, and long.

If you want to come for fills less often.

After Care

  • Do not get lashes wet for 24 hours.

  • Do not use a spa, sauna or pool for the first 24 hours. The extensions need that amount of time to properly bond.

  • Do not touch, or mess with lashes.

In between Fills

  • If a lash has turned, use your lash wand to correct it and brush in an upward motion.

  • Use oil-free products around lash area.

  • Do not use eyelash curlers with your extensions. With proper application you will not need them.

  • Clean your lashes regularly to prevent oil and dirt build up. Clean lashes are happy lashes.

  • Let lashes air dry, and brush them regularly.

  • Get your refill with your lash tech and if you wish to remove them, have your lash technician remove them for you (never remove them yourself) You can seriously damage your natural lashes.
